Why "Ahi"

Ahi is the Hawaiian name for yellowfin tuna: the fish at the heart of poke, and the first ingredient we learned to treat with real respect. We named the shop after an ingredient, not an ego. The fish sets the standard; our job is to keep it.

How we work

We're a small, woman-owned kitchen in West Dallas doing two things with our whole attention: sushi rolled with patience, and poke bowls built to order. No shortcuts on the cold chain, no mystery in the bowl: what the menu says is exactly what goes in.

Packed by hand

Every bowl and roll is packed one at a time, by a person who checks it before it goes in the bag.

Fresh first

Cold things travel cold. Your order is packed right before it leaves the counter, so fresh stays the whole point.

Made to travel

Sealed lids, sauces upright, a tote that holds its shape, built for the ride home.

Our packaging is printed with two words we mean: "reuse me." A meal is a short story; the bag doesn't have to be. Take it somewhere — that's the whole idea.
